I had the steak and grilled shrimp plate, both were on point! Wife had the clam chowder and she was pleased. The bottle caps are always a Great appetizer with a cold one. Great service and drinks for the price! I recommend. Will return.

From the rustic wooden accents to the cozy booths near the windows, the setting immediately makes you feel at home. I remember visiting on a quiet weekday evening, and even with a modest crowd, the staff managed to make every table feel like the center of attention. Their attention to detail in both service and presentation really stands out.
The menu at this restaurant is a careful balance of classic tavern favorites and modern comfort dishes. One of my personal go-to choices is the grilled salmon with a side of roasted vegetables. The seasoning is subtle yet flavorful, letting the freshness of the ingredients shine. Iβve also tried their signature burgers, which arrive perfectly cooked and layered with fresh toppings. What impressed me most was how consistent the quality remained across different visits, suggesting a disciplined kitchen routine that prioritizes freshness and flavor.
Another experience worth noting is their brunch on weekends. I stopped by last month and witnessed a lively atmosphere with families and groups of friends sharing plates. The chicken and waffles, a favorite among regulars, had a crisp exterior and tender interior, while the homemade syrup added a rich, indulgent touch. Itβs clear that the chefs understand both taste and presentation, which makes for dishes that are as Instagram-worthy as they are delicious.
The bar at The Wharf is another highlight, featuring an impressive selection of local craft beers and classic cocktails. In fact, the restaurant often hosts seasonal tasting events, showing their dedication to engaging the community and providing unique culinary experiences.

The blackened trout was outstanding. The blackened scallops were fantastic as well. Go try them out if you have not already.
Food and service were excellent! I was worried I would be under dressed but the environment was super casual and laid back. Although the steak and lobster lacked seasoning they were both cooked so perfectly.
I've lived in san angelo for fifty years as of today. Today was my 1st day ever to try The Wharf. The prices were on point for the type of restaurant. The food was well prepared and the right temperature. The restaurant really needs to be cleaned very well and decorations dusted. The only real complaint I would say I had was that the hostess was very rude and had a condescending attitude. I'm not not as felt as offended by her attitude. If we had not called ahead and asked if we needed a reservation and were told no, then when we showed up with seven people, she was miffed we had no reservation.
I donβt know how long The Wharf has actually been around, but I moved here in 1990, and this is the first time Iβve ever tried it. Weβve thought about going there a few times over the years, but never got around to it. So glad we finally did! The food was really good. I didnβt get a pic until after we dug in, but you get the idea. We ordered the fried mushroom appetizer, which was cooked really well. A lot of times fried mushrooms can be soggy, and I almost always have to add salt, but not here. The chipotle ranch was also nice to dip them in. As for our entrees, my husband got the fried catfish, which he kept commenting that it was βreally goodβ all night, even after we left. I tried the shrimp scampi and was pretty pleased. We will definitely be dining here again, and it wonβt be another 34 years before we go!
Reid was the best. Suggested wines different fish selections. Food was great and bananas fosters was yummy. Our1st time there. Cute place and will return.
The food and service were great! It was our first time, and we decided to celebrate our 24th anniversary with something different. Low light and a little romantic. The dress was casual. Not loud at all. My husband had the ribeye, and i had the Hawaiian chicken with rice. Also, I tried out the fried cheese....so good! Our server was awesome. Will definitely go again.
